Spain is heavily involved in the film industry, hosting many international film shoots. The town of Tres Cantos, on the outskirts of Madrid, is doing its bit, as it is known for hosting one of Netflix’s main production studios in Europe, housing 10 film sets and a post-production studio.

As part of the plan to renovate and improve the city’s parks and gardens, the Tres Cantos municipal team wanted to create an emblematic play area in the La Siete Leguas park, which runs alongside the Avenida de los Actores, with a unique play structure celebrating the cinema.

To meet this demand, Proludic designed bespoke playground with a monumental figurative structure, a legend from the 7th art: King Kong.

This spectacular creation, with its origami-inspired geometric lines, blends harmoniously into the park’s natural environment and becomes a real attraction for children. Inside the gorilla are a series of balancing and rope elements that must be crossed to reach the 8.75 m high conical tower, reminiscent of the Empire State Building. This tower is a further reference to the famous scene in the film when King Kong climbs the skyscraper to escape his pursuers.

A wide variety of play activities awaits children on both sides of the play structure:

  • Climbing net structures to stimulate coordination and balance, while offering several climbing paths.
  • A climbing wall, adding an extra challenge to reach the heights.
  • A sliding mast for a rapid descent for the most daring, adding a dynamic and sensational touch to the course.
  • Suspended, unstable blocks that challenge children’s balance and concentration as they make their way across.
  • Two slides: a tubular slide for older children, offering a vertiginous descent, and a small slide for younger children, guaranteeing a sliding experience adapted to every age.

Contemporary and powerful, this original creation reinforces the city’s cultural signature.
